Elliott is an ordinary duck – at least he thinks so. He lives on a small farm with lots of other ducks. Runner ducks. Everyone seems to enjoy running, except for Elliott, that is. He wonders if there is something more to life than simply running. One dark summer night, Elliott makes a big discovery that could change his ordinary life forever! Can he find the courage to be different? Will his family and friends accept Elliott for being extraordinary?

This delightfully funny picture book celebrates the importance of being unique and accepting differences in others.

Author Mark Dantzler is a retired teacher who lives with his family in Maryland. His whimsical children’s books share positive messages and are enjoyed by young readers around the world.

Illustrator Leighton Noyes knew from the age of four that all he ever wanted to do was illustrate children’s books. Leighton graduated from Camberwell College of Arts with a BA degree in illustration in 1995 and, despite being incredibly disorganized, has since illustrated over 200 books. He has slight obsessions with Bigfoot and sharks and a tendency to get embarrassingly geeky over Doctor Who. He spends most of his time quietly drawing in a little room in a little house in England, which he shares with his daughter, her boyfriend, and far too many animals.
