Thankfully, Corbin’s great-great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter Scarborough arrives on the scene to explain; in leaping through time, the friends missed their target by a quarter millennium!

Thrust into the distant future, the Dozen will have to learn again how to function in a strange time and land. With dream-recording Dreamdexes, virtual reality visards, and portal-powered sightseeing for entertainment, the year 2272 seems like it’s sure to be a blast!

Unfortunately for Corbin, the fun of the future also comes with a few threats. As Scarborough warns him, learning too much information about the last 250 years could cause the fabric of spacetime to unravel into a tangled, irreparable mess. Besides that, there’s an old friend of the Dozen in town who wants to keep them from returning to the past!

 

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Oliver Bestul lives in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has been writing there since he was in his teens.

With a picture book, a few plays, some poetry, and a feature-length film under his belt, he decided to try his hand at entertaining a new kind of audience: middle-schoolers! Inspired by the chapter books and comics of his youth, he sat down and started The Zodiac Dozen, a 12-book superhero series for kids!

In writing the series, he likes to say he gives his young readers a lot of credit, challenging them to explore new vocabulary, genres, and life outlooks. Like the twelve main characters of his books, he’s excited to grow from the adventure alongside his audience!
